WHAT WILL IT TAKE?

What will it take for us to realize

that we can simply choose to love?

Not when it’s easy.

Not when someone agrees with us.

But in the face of difference.

In the wounds.

In the middle of chaos.

We can lower our guns… realise that the hate and fear planted in our hearts are the lies of control.

No matter what you believe in.

No matter where you come from.

No matter how different you are from mE

I choose to love you.

I choose to stand here barefoot on this Earth,

with my heart open and my arms wide,

because I remember a world where love was law,

and I am here to call it back.

One breath at a time.

One choice at a time.

One trembling, holy moment at a time.

I want us to feed every child who lies weeping in hunger.

I want us to hold every child whose body trembles in fear.

I want us to turn every gun pointed at one another

into roses, red, soft, bleeding only beauty.

May every bullet change into petals.

May every trigger become a prayer for peace.

I want us to remember that we were never meant to fear and hate each other.

That beneath the color of our skin, the borders of our land, and the names we call God(des)

we are made of the same breath, the same light.

Children of Mother Earth.

I choose to love you…

Will you choose it with me?
